Liminality is a passage between, an interstructure. Initiates suffer symbolic death to enter the suspension of liminality. As Turner wrote, liminality is "a realm of pure possibility whence novel configurations of ideas and relations may arise," and "where there is a certain freedom to juggle with the factors of existence.It is marked by hypothesis, potential, and consideration of otherness.
